Certifying authority

Parties that wish to do so can become accredited as certifying parties on PDND. Once accredited, they will see an additional menu item: My Party > Certifying Authority.

A certifying authority gains the ability to create their own certified attributes and manage their assignment and revocation to other parties, under their own responsibility. These attributes can then be used as access requirements for e-services, just like any other attribute.

These attributes simplify service delivery by enabling the certifier to create and manage “networks” of parties that share specific characteristics. For example, ANAC (the Italian National Anti-Corruption Authority) acts as a certifying authority that manages the e-procurement network—having visibility not only over its own e-services but also of all parties to which it has assigned specific attributes for accessing e-procurement–related services.
