Certifying body

Accreditation and access to functions

Parties can register on PDND as certifying bodies by submitting a specific request.

Functions and responsibilities of the certifying body

A certifying body can:
  • Create its own certified attributes;
  • Assign and revoke these attributes to or from other parties;
  • Allow their use as access requirements for e-services, just like other attribute types.
The responsibility for the assignment, revocation, and accuracy of certified attributes lies entirely with the certifying body.

Operational benefits and application scope

Certified attributes simplify the management of producing and enable the certifying body to build and manage networks of parties that share specific characteristics useful for defined use cases.
Example: A.N.AC. acts as a certifying body for e-procurement, having visibility not only over its own e-services but also over the parties to which it has assigned attributes required to access the services connected to e-procurement workflows.
